Re-storied
The Project
Re-storied emerged from doctoral research into relational victimhood, storytelling, and restorative approaches to harm.

Rather than focusing on acts of violence alone, this project centres those who live in the long aftermath - family members, partners, and loved ones whose lives are shaped by proximity to harm.

The Retreat
On December 7, 2025 six artists came together to steward the stories of six people with the lived experience of relational victimhood. On December 21, 2025 they shared the artworks inspired by empathetic listening.
Creating from Feeling
The artists engaged in empathetic art practices on December 7, creating several communal pieces based on what they felt when hearing the stories. This one is called "Echo Lines" and traces the internal rhythm of each story. Just as these lines intersect and vary, so does the experience of relational victimhood.
